The Philippines

In March and April 2026, we will finally explore the Philippines together. For Tom, this trip carries a special meaning: he visited the country once before, back when he was just six years old. Now, over two decades later, he returns with completely different eyes and with Marlene by his side to discover this island nation anew.

We are planning to experience the incredible diversity the Philippines has to offer. On our wish list are the legendary lagoons and limestone karsts of Palawan, the chocolate hills of Bohol, and hopefully some encounters with whale sharks and sea turtles. We want to island hop between paradisiacal beaches, taste our way through Filipino cuisine, and soak in the famous hospitality of the locals.

What makes this trip extra special is the blend of nostalgia and new discovery. Tom has scattered childhood memories of the Philippines, fragments of tropical heat, friendly faces, and crystal-clear water. Now we get to create fresh memories together and fill in the gaps with new adventures.
