America in the Pacific

Guam

Guam is a hidden gem in the western Pacific Ocean, where American convenience blends seamlessly with ancient Chamorro traditions and breathtaking tropical beauty. This small island packs an incredible punch: pristine beaches with powdery white sand, vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life, and lush jungles hiding historical sites from World War II. As the largest island in Micronesia, Guam offers a unique travel experience far off the typical tourist trail. The warm hospitality of the Chamorro people, the fusion cuisine mixing Pacific and Asian flavors, and the crystal-clear waters perfect for diving and snorkeling make this destination truly special. Whether you seek relaxation on secluded beaches, underwater adventures among colorful fish and sea turtles, or a journey through a fascinating blend of cultures, Guam delivers an experience unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Island Dreams: Our Upcoming Adventure on Guam

In March 2026, we will finally set foot on Guam, a tiny island in the Pacific that has been on our travel list for quite some time. As part of our mission to visit every country with an ISO code, this US territory represents a unique destination that few travelers from Europe ever get to experience.

We are planning to explore both the natural beauty and the rich cultural heritage of the island. On our itinerary are the stunning beaches of Tumon Bay, where we hope to snorkel among colorful coral reefs and perhaps spot some sea turtles. We also want to dive into Chamorro culture, taste the local cuisine, and visit some of the historical sites that tell the story of the island's turbulent past during World War II.

What excites us most is the feeling of traveling somewhere truly remote. Guam sits closer to Tokyo than to Hawaii, making it a crossroads of Pacific cultures that most Western travelers never discover.

We cannot wait to share our experiences, photos, and tips with you once we return. Stay tuned for the full story of our Micronesian adventure!
