Three Weeks on the Road

From Perth to Exmouth: Our Wild West Australian Adventure

Three weeks, one car, and the endless expanse of Western Australia: our roadtrip from Perth to Exmouth was one of those adventures you never forget.

The route took us through landscapes that shifted between stark beauty and surprising diversity. We spotted kangaroos by the roadside, watched cockatoos in the trees, and were lucky enough to encounter both sharks and dolphins in the crystal-clear waters. A definite highlight was Rottnest Island, where the famous quokkas greeted us with their permanent smiles.

But a roadtrip through Western Australia would not be complete without a few challenges. The endless roads had an almost hypnotic effect on us, and somewhere in the middle of nowhere, one of our tires decided to call it quits. What really tested our patience, though, were the bush flies. These persistent little companions were so relentless that we ended up wearing nets over our faces just to stay sane.

Despite the flat tire and the fly invasion, this trip through Australia's wild west was an absolute highlight of our travels. The raw, untouched nature and the relaxed atmosphere completely captivated us.
